Kia ora whānau!
Today, I was fortunate to see a post on my potiki's daycare page about Family Boost.
I don't know where I have been, but had no idea that this was coming out.
I felt pretty hard done by this current government when we learnt that under 2's ECE funding was cancelled.
Like many households to keep afloat with the increased costs of living, we are a two income household. However, we are in that income bracket of earning too much to get a childcare subsidy from MSD. But her weekly daycare bill of $175.00 per week, definitely cuts into the weekly expenses for a whānau with 5 tamariki in total.
Now before some of you keyboard warriors take this opportunity to remind me that we had all these kids and it's our responsibility, blah, blah, blah... hey, I've been working my butt off to advance my career and put a roof over my kids heads, food in the puku AND make meaningful contributions to my whānau, hapu, iwi and the nation. So, I'm a constructive contributing member of our society and great nation.
Yoooo, it's super easy if you're already registered, declared and have your partner's details and the kids loaded onto your family tax credits.
I logged into My IR, searched Family Boost registration and completed it within 5mins.
The only thing you need to copy is your partners IRD number.
You also need to get your daycare license number and also a statement for the quarter, I.e. 1st July - 30th September 2024.
I then requested a quarter statement from my daycare and uploaded it. You do need to know the invoice amount.
Check out this link for more information.
It super easy, which helps all the PTSD accumulated from filling in pages full of hundreds of questions.
